A Note from Wimberly's Roots

At Wimberly’s Roots, we’ve made a clear and intentional shift: we’re fighting food insecurity from the inside out… starting in the kitchen.

Because food security isn’t just about access—it’s about confidence. It’s about knowing what to do when you get the food. It’s about turning simple ingredients into something nourishing, stretching a meal, feeding your family, and feeling proud doing it. That’s why our kitchen has become the 💚heart of our work.

Through our Right Bite Diabetes Cooking School and hands-on cooking events, we’re not just serving food—we’re building skills, sharing knowledge, and creating space for people to learn, laugh, and try something new.

We keep it simple, practical, and real:

  • Affordable ingredients

  • Easy, repeatable recipes

  • Hands-on participation (because doing is learning)

  • Tips that actually work in everyday life

We’ve seen what happens when someone realizes, I can do this.

That moment? That’s where change starts. And it doesn’t stop in our kitchen—it goes home, to families, to neighbors, to the next meal.

🌱 So where do you come in?

This work only grows with community. If you’ve ever wondered how to help, here’s your invitation:

  • Show up – Join a class, bring a friend, be part of the experience

  • Volunteer – Chop, stir, teach, encourage

  • Share – Pass along what you learn to someone else

  • Support – Help us expand the Right Bite Program into more spaces

Because this isn’t just our mission—it belongs to all of us.

We believe healthy food should feel possible, not overwhelming. We believe kitchens can build confidence, connection, and change. And we believe that together, we can create a community where everyone has both the food and the skills to thrive.

As March ends and April begins.....

🌱Let’s keep showing up

🌱Let’s keep cooking.

🌱Let’s keep growing.
