What We Do
Youth and seniors alike will have the opportunity to engage in and learn about growing and eating healthy food. In the community kitchen, classes will be offered to neighborhood residents, youth, and seniors to learn about nutrition, cooking, and food preservation technique. Our outdoor education space and garden will serve as a community space for classes conducted by our in-house specialists, other Wimberly Center organizations, and guest speakers on a variety of food, gardening, and environmental topics.
We offer on-site and off-site catering services for your next business meeting, wedding, reunion, or other special event. This catering venture will support the teaching garden and kitchen, with 100% of the proceeds going to fund the non-profit.
A section of the Wimberly Center's campus will be devoted to producing fresh fruit and vegetables for use in our culinary and nutrition education activities, catering, and made available to the surrounding community.
Whether you’re a seasoned chef or just learning your way around the kitchen, we take pride in serving as an educational resource for cooks of all skill levels. We offer a variety of cooking classes for adults and children, as well as team building classes for your office or organization.
We will soon begin construction on the Wimberly Center Community Garden that will contain numerous raised bed garden boxes made available to the local community for a small fee. This fee will help fund the tools and resources made available to our community garden members. A large community garden pavilion will also provide shade for our community garden users and community residents to enjoy. The pavilion will house an outdoor cooking space that can be used for outdoor cooking classes, community use, and event rental.
